Oficina de Luz e Desenhos em Movimento
Marina Palácio (PT)

Workshop
12th of December | 4pm to 6pm
Schools Session
Based on the sound design: Carnival of the Animals, by Camille Saint-Saëns.
Nortada, the wind from the northern lands, will travel to different places around the world to invite some animals to celebrate the birth of a little wolf who lives in the Northern Forest. Some of these animals also inhabit the score of composer Camille Saint Saens and love to draw in a different and fun way. As the journey was long, they invented mysterious games to entertain themselves.
By listening to The Carnival of the Animals, we will discover the multidisciplinary nature of artistic expression through sound reading, experiencing a very diverse performative artistic process. A playful rehearsal, also to look at abstract painting and feel its infinite possibilities of interpretation, and how the authors of non-figurative painting so often conceive works of art with concept and meaning.

Born in Lisbon in 1971. Poet, apprentice naturalist and lover of books, wolves, birds, trees, winds and silence. Illustrator, comic book author, animated film director and artist-educator at the ‘Reading and Creativity Workshops - Education through Books, Art and Nature’ (since 2009).
In 2022, she created ‘edições o Vento e o Lobo!’ for poetic, naturalist/wild/sylvan and sensitive readings, with a view to developing her literary and graphic projects. This poetic communication that she has established over the years with living beings allows her to discover stories of fauna, flora and other forms of life, in the early mornings and twilights of Portugal and the world.
