InShadow at Espaço Santa Catarina

Yesterday we opened a series of 6 photographic exhibitions, and two collections of videodance shown on loop at Espaço Santa Catarina.

Pedro Sena Nunes, our Co-Artistic Director, took everyone on a tour of the photographic exhibitions and installations on display at Espaço Santa Catarina, giving their creators the opportunity to explain the concepts behind their work.

The inauguration was also marked by Nuno Labau's performance Rebis.

In this performance, multidisciplinary artist Nuno Labau explores the concept of New Masculinities from a Western perspective. Drawing on the performativity of the body and its mystical dimension, he connects the masculine, the alchemical and the social, questioning norms and identities. He proposes a vision in which masculinity and femininity are constructions of the gaze, celebrating bodies free from convention.
