Since11th of November, InShadow – Lisbon Screendance Festival has been felt throughout the entire city!
Casa do Comum hosted the International Documentary Competition, while Teatro do Bairro lived energetic days with the International Videodance Competition. On the 29th of November, we celebrated Videodance, Documentary, and Animation at the Awards Ceremony. From more than 350 submissions, 100 films were selected for the international competitions. All information about the award winners can be found here.
InShadow also travelled through many other spaces in Lisbon over the past weeks. On the 27th of November, six exhibitions by emerging photographers were inaugurated at Espaço Santa Catarina, as well as a video installation. The Gallery and the Cistern of FBAUL – Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa also opened on the 3rd of December. In the Gallery, we present the photography exhibition by Andrea Hackl (NL/AT), while in the Cistern eight videodances are on display. Both FBAUL spaces can be visited until the 19th of December.
We also highlight the performances included in the Festival, which took place in different venues across Lisbon. Dreamer, a performance by Andrea Hackl, occupied Safra in Lumiar, while Uma Outra Forma, by CiM – Companhia de Dança, was presented at the Museu da Marioneta. Ridículas Cartas, by João Telmo/Inpugna, was also performed earlier this month at Teatro Ibérico.
Until the end of the festival, 19th of December, the FBAUL spaces remain open to visitors, and on the 13th of December the performance Vozes e Ar Pesado, by Alexandre Lyra Leite and performed by Companhia Inestética, will take place. In this work, inspired by O Navio de Espelhos by Mário Cesariny, we are invited to reflect on emotional overload and the subtle layers of communication that manifest in everyday life. 13th of December, at 6:30pm, at Safra (Lumiar). Tickets can be purchased here or at the door.
Also on the 13th of December, at 4:30pm, we will screen the film Saturday Night Fever (1977) at Cinemateca Portuguesa. Tickets here
