The shadow remains in motion!
On April 14th, we're off to Fafe where we'll take part in the Easter Dance Week programme.
Organised by Escola de Bailado de Fafe, Easter Dance Week is an annual festival that aims to place artistic expression, and dance in particular, at the service of society. Over the course of a week, it organises a programme of activities that invite artists and the public to reflect about the need to experience art.
In this context, Pedro Sena Nunes will be leading a workshop entitled 'Body, Camera and Space'. Taking place between 5pm and 7:30pm at Cinema Teatro de Fafe, this initiative offers a practical and creative exploration of video dance, focusing on the relationship between the body, space and the moving image. It is particularly aimed at students and creatives, both professional and non-professional, interested in dance, video, cinema, visual and performing arts, who wish to develop a practical project.
Participants will be challenged to deconstruct and re-imagine a preconceived choreographic line through the lens of the camera, transforming movement into a unique videographic object. Particular attention will be paid to the role of the camera and other scenic elements in reconfiguring dance, exploring different framings, rhythms and visual dynamics with the aim of developing essential creative tools for capturing and reinterpreting movement.
Following on from the themes explored throughout the workshop, Pedro Sena Nunes will also present a video dance exhibition on the theme of this year's Easter Dance Week: 'Culture(s) - a place in humanity'. Starting at 9:30pm, also at Cinema Teatro de Fafe, the session will include screenings of:
These initiatives aim to awaken a sensitive and conscious vision of video-dance creation, taking the gaze behind the lens to the soul of movement.
