Yesterday we marked the start of our International Videodance Competition! This unforgettable first session featured the screening of the films:

Quarce Upon a Time, by Tommy Pascal (FR)
A tua pele, by Hares Datti Pascoal (PT)
FR:AGILITY, by Amanda Tan (SG)
The session was attended by directors, choreographers and other international artists, in an assumed role of keeping alive the creative synergies that have moved us for all these years. We were joined by Jacob Jayantha, producer of CUT, Maja Zimmerlin, director of APXH (beginning), Stephanie Keane, director of ÉIST (Listen), Karitas Lotta Tulinius, actress from Together, Hares Datti Pascoal, director of A tua pele, who was accompanied by members of the film's team: Edgar Ferreira, director of photography, Eloiza Montanha, actress, and Mihaela-Cătălina Sandu, translator.
After the screening of the films in contest, there was a conversation between Ana Rita Barata, the Festival's Co-Artistic Director, and the artists present. During this remarkable moment, the directors, producers and actors explained the concepts and ideas behind the film proposals they bring to InShadow, revealing to us the greatest difficulties experienced by the teams during the production process. There was also time to answer questions from the audience.
Until the 29th of November, our Videodance Competition promises to amaze with the technical, aesthetic and narrative quality of the competing creations. Bringing together a total of 71 unmissable films from 32 countries and screened over seven sessions, the Festival's epicentre highlights the affair between the body and the image.
