InShadow 2025 Open Call - Deadline extended to 10th July

Submissions for the 17th edition of the InShadow Festival, taking place from 15 November to 15 December 2025, are in their final phase. The deadline has been extended until 10 July – this is the last opportunity to submit films or photographic proposals to the various sections of the festival, from the main competitions to the educational and immersive sessions.

InShadow promotes the intersection of body and image, standing out for the way it embraces works that challenge the boundaries of screendance and dance documentary, offering an international platform for creators, artistic teams, and diverse audiences.

Competitive Sections:

• International Screendance Competition – short films up to 20 minutes (as a reference);

• International Documentary Competition – films up to 90 minutes;

• Animation Film Competition – up to 5 minutes (as a reference).

In 2025, InShadow is supported by IMZ – International Music + Media Centre, through the Dancescreen programme, which will award €3,000 in prizes to works that best represent screendance, dance documentary, or their creative processes.

Competition Dates:

• 19–23 November – Documentary Competition, at Casa do Comum;

• 25–28 November – Screendance Competition, at Teatro do Bairro;

• 29 November – Awards Ceremony, also at Teatro do Bairro.
