CURATING A FILM PROGRAMMME
Chirstiane Hartter (DE)

Workshop
24th of November | 4pm to 6pm
This workshop offers a hands-on introduction to the art of film curation. With a small group of around 12 participants, working in teams of three, attendees will be invited to curate a short film programme. From a selection of 12 very short films (each approx. 2 minutes long), each group will select 6 films and develop a programme concept, which they will then present to the rest of the participants. The aim of the workshop is to sharpen participants’ viewing skills and raise awareness of the curatorial decisions behind any well-crafted film programme. It should highlight how context and sequencing shape the audience's perception, demonstrating that a film’s impact is deeply influenced by how and where it is shown.
