21st of November | 10am to 12pm
In this 2-hour masterclass, multi-award-winning dance filmmaker Thomas Freundlich explores the different aesthetic approaches and practical techniques for translating dance to the screen, starting with basic questions of viewpoint, visual vocabulary and cinematographic choice. The masterclass brings to light the ways in which our every decision in capturing dance is a continuation of the century-old debate on how to render a three-dimensional art form on a two-dimensional screen, whether it be cinema, TV or social media.
